What you had to do.
What you always do.
Turn death into a fighting chance to own a Mac Pro with dual 3GHz Quad-Core Xeon processors!
Yep, I bought one. Call me crazy, but this is Stage 1 of my ultimate plan to take over the, er…. well it’s just Stage 1. ( whatever that means!) Of course, I didn’t buy this $5000 behemoth out of shear boredom. As true as the words Bones spoke to Kirk while they watched the ol’ Enterprise plummet through the sky like a marshmallow doused in napalm, I did what I had to. My old P4 klunker just wasn’t quite getting the job done anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been unbelievably happy with the system. The fact it’s been a viable system for this long, is a testament to why you should roll your own rig. I mean, it’s still a good system, and I’m by no means retiring it. As more work is coming my way, I am finding I need to increase my workflow, and the biggest bottle neck is my old computer. A good analogy would be to say my P4 is like an A-10 Thunderbolt tank killer, which has it’s purpose. My new Mac Pro, on the other hand, is a F-22A Raptor advanced tactical fighter… from the future!!! (I don’t know why I added that last part about, “the future.”) Anyway, the purchase order is in and my card card is suffering the pangs of a harsh lashing, but I’ll make another post once I actually receive said F-22A Raptor, which with my luck with UP-Ex shipping, will be sometime next decade.
