Hey gang! Er, uh well, maybe not so much a gang as a few stragglers. But the best stragglers booze can buy, I might add!

Anyway, I’m sure it’s well known we here at the Omega are into alternative forms of media distribution. Mostly this is because we have a snowballs chance in a supernova to distribute our work through traditional channels (i.e. your local cineplex).

We’re also into it because it’s the way of…  Tha Futcha!

Yeah, we’re pretty much into everything that involves the future. Time Machines. Plasma Weapons. Quantum Computing. Regenerative Medicine. Post-Apocalyptic Dystopias. Procrastination… You know, the usual stuff.

Back on track, there are many different ways to go about Alternate Distribution, which is both beneficial and a detriment. It’s good in the sense there are an abundance of options and venues available for content creators, but it’s hard to know what/where those are. It’s even difficult to know exactly what various online distribution services do for the filmmaker, as their websites can be extremely vague. Additionally, this is a challenge for those new-to-the-scene storytellers who don’t speak distributionese. I’m certainly still learning!

“Fulfillment? Isn’t that how I’m suppose to feel after completing my movie?!”

And so, in an effort to make it easy on those who wish to venture into NWD (like myself), I plan to research the facilitators of this grand digital experiment. With any luck I’ll be able to regularly post on these people, their websites, and their services. Maybe we’ll add a page to our site exclusively for this content where others can contribute too.

Shall we call it… zee Distro-theque?!!

Let’s not call it that…

Why not?

I kinda like it actually.

With or without the implied accent of ambiguous origin?

With, of course.
