Yeah, I shot this slightly desaturated to allow for some grading anyway; and I’ll be using Looks on the whole project. Of course, if you’ve got experience with Looks, Trey, you can help color-grade it.

Some of this colour-changing would be good for some of our other ideas, Ryan. We should fill Trey in and see if any of our ideas are anything worth pursuing… You know, because the only ideas we ever pursue are yours and Trey’s.

My impetus for the above pics was born out of reading the latest post on ProLost and watching the video linked there. I also couldn’t sleep last night.

Ironically, I set my camera’s color settings for the shoot to a “color-correction friendly” mode based on the advice from ProLost. I still need to watch his tutorial, though, it’s been on my to-do list all week.

I was surprised how well the jpeg held up, even considering its small size. Also, the video I mentioned is actually quite recent. Stu goes through and shows you how to recreate looks from Transformers 2, Terminator: Salvation, Where the Wild Things Are, and a few others. And of course, cause it’s Stu, it’s also hilarious and more insightful than a simple how-to.

Not sure why I thought that you thought that the video in question was one of the older tutorials. Regardless, everyone should watch all of them, how ever many of them there are!

Still just the one scene, but CS4’s changed how it exports stills, and I don’t quite like it.
