Trailing on the coat-tails of J.J. Abrams “Star Trek”, it seems this is a good year to be a Trekkie.  Film Score Monthly recently announced at Comic-Con that their label will be releasing a massive, digitally restored, complete score to 1982’s “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”, arguably the best score of the series, and the score which made James Horner’s career.

If you’re capturing HDV footage using something like HDVSplit, or Cineform’s NEOScene, and your HDV camera no longer appears to those programs as a capture device, or even showing up at all; then try changing the Firewire (IEEE 1394) driver to a “legacy” driver. This tends to work in the 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows Vista and the release candidate of Windows 7.

You know, just F.Y.I.

Since Trey mentioned it in the comments for his last post, Stu Maschwitz has a tutorial on Red Giant TV on using Magic Bullet Looks and Colorista to emulate the looks of big Hollywood films from this summer.  The one thing Trey omitted, however, was sharing the link with everyone else.  So here you go, gang.  Enjoy.

Now, back to trying to wrap up this latest video project.  Stay tuned.
