I've been quite pleased with Cineform NeoScene for getting editable clips. As for Windows 7, I've been using the RC for almost a month now and I like it. The taskbar takes some getting used to, and I don't really care for the control panel redesign. I've been using the 64-bit version and haven't really had any hardware or software incompatibilities. Just that weird Firewire driver issue.
