Trailing on the coat-tails of J.J. Abrams “Star Trek”, it seems this is a good year to be a Trekkie.  Film Score Monthly recently announced at Comic-Con that their label will be releasing a massive, digitally restored, complete score to 1982′s “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”, arguably the best score of the series, and the score which made James Horner’s career.

Find details here.

If you’re capturing HDV footage using something like HDVSplit, or Cineform’s NEOScene, and your HDV camera no longer appears to those programs as a capture device, or even showing up at all; then try changing the Firewire (IEEE 1394) driver to a “legacy” driver. This tends to work in the 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows Vista and the release candidate of Windows 7.

You know, just F.Y.I.

Since Trey mentioned it in the comments for his last post, Stu Maschwitz has a tutorial on Red Giant TV on using Magic Bullet Looks and Colorista to emulate the looks of big Hollywood films from this summer.  The one thing Trey omitted, however, was sharing the link with everyone else.  So here you go, gang.  Enjoy.

Now, back to trying to wrap up this latest video project.  Stay tuned.

I decided to have some fun with Magic Bullet Looks and the image from the previous post. The top image after the break is the original. Hope everyone enjoys!

And it turned out pretty good, too.  Who would have thought?

Yes, Trey has finally joined us old and decrepit souls, finally reaching the ripe old age of 31.  As you said back in December, Trey, 31 is 13 in reverse, so hopefully this will also be a good year for you, too.

Happy Birthday!

So, not to overshadow our previous announcement, which is I believe the first real mention that Omega13 Productions will have a film we’re going to try to get in the 2010 Nashville Film Festival (among others).

But this year, in fact in just two weeks, another film will be premiering at the 2009 Nashville Film Festival, a film not made by either Trey or myself, but we do make a small cameo appearance (unless we’ve been cut from the film).

The film is “Leto” and was written and directed by our good friend Luke Dye.  If anyone that reads this is in the area of Green Hills, in Nashville, TN, on either Tuesday, April 21 or Thursday, April 23, you should check it out.  Further information is available at http://www.nashvillefilmfestival.org.  We hope to see you there.

Greetings.
First off, I’d like to apologize sincerely for not posting in so gosh darn long. From all (three) of us here at Omega13 Productions, we are sorry. Our day jobs keep getting in the way of the fun things…

Now, on to the good stuff! The script for the Nashville Film Festival film (which as yet remains unnamed) is very nearly completed! It is jam-packed with action, adventure, romance, and ice cream! Mostly ice cream… I need to stop writing when I’m hungry…

It has been a nice challenge to work collaboratively on a script– especially when the writers live a few hours apart.
We have been working with a composer on a score and are working on a deal with a recording studio to get freebies. Ah nepotism!
We have also been working with actors and Ryan and I will have a reading with them this weekend when I am back into town. One of us will post again to write about how that went.

All in all, things are going very well. Shooting should begin in May and conclude in June. The moment is swift upon us!

Be checking back to read of all the wonderous happenings that are about to… happen.

Hello, friends.
This is an update! But there is nothing really to report, so I guess this is just my way of letting you know that some of us here are still alive and able to type. Barely.
The “super secret” project that Ryan wrote about awhile back is coming along, uh… slowly but surely. Ideas are whizzing about and “percolating” in the minds of the writers and some paramount developments are on the horizon. It’s very exciting in a tortoise sort of way. But hey, he won the race anyway, right?

Basically, this post is just to tell you to keep watching with tense anticipation for further developments. You won’t be disappointed.
