Yes, Trey has finally joined us old and decrepit souls, finally reaching the ripe old age of 31.  As you said back in December, Trey, 31 is 13 in reverse, so hopefully this will also be a good year for you, too.

Happy Birthday!

So, not to overshadow our previous announcement, which is I believe the first real mention that Omega13 Productions will have a film we’re going to try to get in the 2010 Nashville Film Festival (among others).

But this year, in fact in just two weeks, another film will be premiering at the 2009 Nashville Film Festival, a film not made by either Trey or myself, but we do make a small cameo appearance (unless we’ve been cut from the film).

The film is “Leto” and was written and directed by our good friend Luke Dye.  If anyone that reads this is in the area of Green Hills, in Nashville, TN, on either Tuesday, April 21 or Thursday, April 23, you should check it out.  Further information is available at http://www.nashvillefilmfestival.org.  We hope to see you there.

Greetings.
First off, I’d like to apologize sincerely for not posting in so gosh darn long. From all (three) of us here at Omega13 Productions, we are sorry. Our day jobs keep getting in the way of the fun things…

Now, on to the good stuff! The script for the Nashville Film Festival film (which as yet remains unnamed) is very nearly completed! It is jam-packed with action, adventure, romance, and ice cream! Mostly ice cream… I need to stop writing when I’m hungry…

It has been a nice challenge to work collaboratively on a script– especially when the writers live a few hours apart.
We have been working with a composer on a score and are working on a deal with a recording studio to get freebies. Ah nepotism!
We have also been working with actors and Ryan and I will have a reading with them this weekend when I am back into town. One of us will post again to write about how that went.

All in all, things are going very well. Shooting should begin in May and conclude in June. The moment is swift upon us!

Be checking back to read of all the wonderous happenings that are about to… happen.

Hello, friends.
This is an update! But there is nothing really to report, so I guess this is just my way of letting you know that some of us here are still alive and able to type. Barely.
The “super secret” project that Ryan wrote about awhile back is coming along, uh… slowly but surely. Ideas are whizzing about and “percolating” in the minds of the writers and some paramount developments are on the horizon. It’s very exciting in a tortoise sort of way. But hey, he won the race anyway, right?

Basically, this post is just to tell you to keep watching with tense anticipation for further developments. You won’t be disappointed.

JVC recently announced a couple of new tantalizing cameras, the GY-HM100U and the GY-HM700.

The HM100U is a 1/4″  3CCD handheld camcorder with integrated lens, while the HM700 big brother sports 1/3″ 3CCDs in a compact shoulder mount form factor with a nicely spec’d removable Canon lens. Which, by the way, is actually included with the purchase of the camera!

Panasonic sent out a wave of press releases yesterday (02/11/09) announcing new and eye-brow raising products to their line-up. As exciting as these additions are by themselves, they seem to be indicative of a modularity trend and ample-option mentality emerging in P-sonic’s marketing plans.

Whether it be for life sustaining planets, God particles (maybe there’s more than one!), the Ark of the Covenant, or a decent spot to bury a body, success in one’s sometimes unsavory endeavors usually begins with a course of action enslaved to the answer of a simple question:

 Where should I start looking?

I came across this Chinese phrase at this website here. I really like it, so I thought I’d share it with everyone. The English spelling is Yuan Ying Hui.

It means – We meet together for film.
